May 6, 2012 Sermon - John 15

May 12th, 2012

John 15:1-9 ESV

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love.

Our Saviour Lutheran Youth to participate in Global Youth Service Day

April 17th, 2012

Our Saviour youth will be participating in Global Youth Service Day, THIS SATURDAY!! Please meet at Our Saviour Lutheran Church at 8:45 a.m. to head over to Baird Creek for a clean-up event. Questions? Contact Whitney Hunter at 920-265-4561. Parents/adults are also strongly encouraged to attend!

It is the purpose of the Baird Creek Preservation Foundation to assist the City of Green Bay in acquiring land in the Baird Creek Parkway and to help enhance the Parkway’s value as an ecological, recreational, and educational resource for Northeastern Wisconsin. Our goal is to preserve natural woodland in our Green Bay metropolitan area. The annual Clean-Up event not only provides an important value to those who use the Parkway, it also brings the community together around a common goal. The work is not difficult, and the event results in cleaner natural woodland and a sense of pride in our resources and our fellow community members.
Project Description:
Volunteers will be picking up trash in the parkway. All ages welcome. The volunteers will meet in the Triangle Hill Chalet and be put into teams. Each team will have an area of the Parkway to clean, and instructions on what to do with trash found out there (generally just leave it in bags by the side of the road and we will have it picked up). There will be light snacks and drinks at the Chalet in the morning.
Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring work gloves if desired. Dress for the weather! The chalet will be open and available, but the majority of the time will be spent outdoors.
Project will take place outside, rain or shine.
Proposed time and date: Saturday, April 21, 2012, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Project Location:
Triangle Hill, (off Baird Creek Road)
500 Beverly Road, Green Bay, WI 54302
