What about Baptisms?
“In and through Baptism, God cleanses us from all our sins, snatches us from the power of Satan and gives us everlasting life. It is all God’s doing as He gives us His blessing. It is His promise. In Holy Baptism, our Triune God imparts to each of us personally the gifts the Lord Jesus Christ won for the world through His life, suffering, death, and resurrection.” - The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.
Baptisms are done at Our Saviour Lutheran either publicly or privately. Since Holy Baptism is a Sacrament performed by the pastors in the name of the congregation, it should, if possible, be performed before the congregation in a public service. Anyone wishing to have an infant, child, or adult baptized must first attend a class or visit with the pastor in preparation for this event. If necessary, Holy Baptism may be administered in the hospital or home. Sponsors should be active Christians, and preferably Lutheran.
What about Weddings?
Arrangements for weddings at Our Saviour Lutheran should be made with a pastor well in advance of the date and before the wedding announcements are sent out. Weddings for those couples who are outside of the Our Saviour membership family are considered on several factors, including the pastors’ availability and the church calendar. Couples must attend both a private meeting with the pastor and attend a Pre-Marriage Class which is offered several times throughout the year. Contact the church office (920-468-4065) for fees and additional information. The sanctuary is not available for rent for outside weddings.
What about Funerals?
Unless otherwise requested by the family, a pastor will conduct the funeral services for all those who are members of the church at the time of death. All others will be decided upon according to the situation at the time of death. Contact the church office (920-468-4065).
What about Counseling?
Counseling for people who are outside of the Our Saviour membership family are considered on several factors, including the pastors’ availability and the church calendar. Often, counseling will be referred out to another agency. Contact the church office (920-468-4065).
