My name is Christina Scholz and I am currently Our Saviour’s new Preschool Director. I also serve as one of the teachers. I grew up in Palmyra, Missouri (Land of Mark Twain) a small town located about 2 hrs North of St. Louis, a town with a whopping 3,000 people. I attended Zion Lutheran School, Pre-K through 8th grade. It was during my time at Zion (2nd grade actually) that I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I attended St. Paul’s Lutheran High School in Concordia, Missouri. This is the only boarding school within the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. I lived on campus all four years and enjoyed the experience of living with friends during high school. I graduated in ’93 and went to Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. I majored in Elementary Education with a minor in Geography and a Concentration in Early Childhood Education. My senior year at Concordia, I piloted a student teaching program in Australia where I spent 12 weeks student teaching at Grace Lutheran Primary School in Queensland, Australia. I taught in their Pre-K, 1st & 4th grade classes. Student teaching in Australia was a fantastic experience and I was grateful for the opportunity to serve God outside of the states.

After I graduated in ’97 I took my first and only Call to serve the wonderful congregation of Trinity Lutheran Church & School in Bend, Oregon. I served as a teacher in 1st grade for 9 years and then taught 4th grade for one year before my husband relocated our family to Green Bay through a job transfer with the Sherwin-Williams Co. While serving Trinity I have been working on my Master’s Degree in Curriculum Instruction and Design at Concordia University in Irvine California.

Trinity-Bend, Oregon began as a Preschool with 10 students and now serves around 380 students. God truly blesses those who are faithful to His command, “Go and make Disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19

I married my wonderful husband Nathan in ’99. We were married in Palmyra, MO and were blessed to have 30 family and friends from Oregon fly out to be a part of the celebration. We celebrated the birth of our first daughter Grace in ’00. Grace is 7 years old and is a second grader at Trinity. We were blessed a few years later with our second girl, Bailey who is in Kindergarten at Trinity.

Nathan is currently finishing his Bachelor’s at University-GB; he will then obtain his Master’s in Teaching through Concordia, Mequon-GB. We hope to be able to take a Call to serve a congregation together one day soon.

I am delighted to be a part of Our Saviour Preschool Church. I am currently teaching 3 yr and 4 yr Preschool am classes. I also serve Our Saviour as Director. What a blessing it is to be a part of this church family.
