After a few little issues, like a delay at O’Hare, we have safely arrived in New Orleans.
I have set up a public Facebook album for you to see some of our activities. You should be able to see it here.
18 youth and 3 adults from Our Saviour are in New Orleans! They left today, Thursday 7/15, and come home on Thursday 7/22. They will be involved in service projects, group activities, Bible studies, concerts, and mass events including a 30,000+ mass worship service!
Mass Events will be streamed live at the following times:
You will be able to find the live stream at www.lcms.org/NYG. A link to the stream will be provided on the Gathering Web site.
Please pray for all involved and that Christ would be proclaimed to the people of New Orleans!

We will leave church at 8:00 am and will return after supper. You will need to bring a bag lunch and money for a fast food stop on the way home. Footwear is required. Shoes should be fastened securely to the foot and over the heel. An old pair of tennis shoes would be great! Kosir will provide a helmet and lift jacket. Make sure you bring a towel and wear either shorts or a swim suit. Sign up on the youth board. The last day to sign up is Sunday July 26th. If you have any other questions, or want to sign up on the phone call Liz at 468-0331.
For the last 5 years, Lutheran youth from several different churches in the area have come together for a summer service project called Summer Stretch. Summer Stretch is a program set up for current 5-8th graders to grow in service and fellowship. Each youth will receive a t-shirt that we all wear together on those Wed. In the mornings we come together and participate in a service event. Following the service event we eat together, share in devotion and then head out for a fun fellowship activity.
This year we will be serving four places, Heritage Hill, Green Bay Botanical Gardens, Encompass Child Care, and the Cerebral Palsy Center. We will be doing some yard work, helping update a former Eagle Scout project at the Botanical Gardens, some cleaning, and participating and helping with the adult fun classes at the CP Center.
